Why POD pays the same Etsy fees
Etsy does not charge a different fee schedule for print-on-demand. Whether you make the item by hand or a partner prints it, the listing fee ($0.20), transaction fee (6.5% of item + shipping + gift wrap), payment processing, regulatory operating fee and VAT on fees all apply identically. Your POD partner is a supplier — Etsy sees only the finished sale.
How base cost replaces COGS
In the main calculator COGS is your cost to make an item. For POD, replace it with your partner's base cost per item (blank garment + print) multiplied by quantity. Partner shipping you pay is your shipping cost. Shipping you charge the buyer and any offsite ads tier remain the same.
