How Etsy fees work in Spain — 2026 guide
Selling on Etsy from Spain means you pay the Spain schedule — 0.88% of the order value and 21% spanish vat on the sum of etsy fees. The fees behind every sale in Spain
The buyer pays the item price plus any shipping and gift wrap you charge. Etsy deducts its fees from that order value, then you cover product and shipping costs. Six to seven lines can appear depending on the country; the sample near the top shows the Spain breakdown in EUR.
1. Transaction fee — 6.5% of order value
Etsy's commission is 6.5% on everything the buyer pays for goods and delivery: discounted item price plus shipping and gift wrap. Discounts reduce this fee because it is charged on what the buyer actually pays. It is identical in every country — payment processing is what varies locally.
2. Payment processing — 4.0% + €0.30 per order
In Spain payment processing is 4.0% + €0.30 per order. The same rate applies to domestic and international buyers. The percentage covers card networks and Etsy Payments; the fixed amount covers per-transaction costs.
3. Listing fee — $0.20 USD per listing sold
Etsy charges $0.20 USD each time a listing sells or renews. For Spain the charge is billed in USD and converted on your invoice; the sample shows it as $0.20 · ≈ €0.18. Quantity scales this line, not the percentage fees.
4. Regulatory operating fee — 0.88% of the order value
Spain's 0.88% fee is close to Italy's 0.80% and well below France's 1.14%. It covers marketplace obligations under Spanish regulation and applies to item price plus shipping and gift wrap. In the sample this line is order value × 0.88%. Markets without a fee — such as the United States and Australia — omit it.
5. Offsite Ads — 15% or 12% when attributed, capped at $100 USD
Offsite Ads are optional until you pass $10,000 in sales in the last 12 months, then participation is automatic. An attributed sale costs 15% under $10,000 and 12% at or over that threshold, capped at $100 USD (≈ €92). The sample shows both tiers so you can compare. The cap keeps a $1,000 order from costing $150.
6. VAT on Etsy fees — 21% Spanish VAT on the sum of Etsy fees
VAT is charged on top of the listing, transaction, processing and regulatory fees. On a Spanish order in the mid-€30s the VAT line is typically around €1.00–€1.20. When VAT applies it is added on top of the fees above and itself rises with order value.
Two optional adjustments
Currency conversion is 2.5% of order value and applies only when payout currency differs from listing currency — most domestic Spain sales leave it off. Share & Save is a 4% rebate on order value credited when a buyer purchases through a link you shared off Etsy; it appears as a negative fee.
Putting the sample together

How to keep more of the sale
Price with all costs visible. A product whose materials and shipping cost €14.50 needs a price covering both plus fees and still leaving margin. A higher price spreads the $0.20 and fixed processing fee over more revenue, improving margin. Model Offsite Ads: if a third of orders came from ads at 15%, blended margin falls by that share — use the Offsite toggle.
